7th Update March 29, 2009
Chemo was on Monday the 23rd. I was graciously escorted by my buddy and sister in law Cindy. She will go any ware for a photo opportunity. We got there at 10:00 got started with meds about 11:30 finished up at 3:30 or so. It wasn't that bad, I have felt pretty good this week except for some heartburn, hot flashes, a small amount of nausea. Can't complain too much. Cindy was great company she went to the mall and brought back a cinnamon roll yum yum. The nurses said to go ahead and eat one every time I come for chemo. I had lots of company with the other patients. They will surely have to cheer up cause I will not sit and pout with them, we're all in the same boat I will get them smiling. Ellen's on at 11:00 thank you Ellen for cheering me up during chemo. Cindy took pictures of my new Ellen cut with the Ellen show in the shot. By the time we were done and ready to go everyone knew we were scrap booking this stuff the nurses even gave me stuff the next day to add to the book. I will have 7 more treatments to go, every other week. With plenty of visits in between for physical therapy, Breast Dr and chemo follow ups.
Stacey has fixed the hair again and it looks super thank you Stace.......
Charlee is turning big 15 on the 30th. Seems that you blink a few times next thing you know you're babies are darn near grown, scary, can we just freeze dry them. I didn't say clone I said freeze dry, time flies. She is playing tennis and really seems to enjoy the sport. She had a game and didn't hit one ball, but she will I'm sure in time.
Grandma is still hitting physical therapy every week and she is waiting to regain some strength in her arm. Her and I should be doing exercises with our arms so we can get more movement. Its been tough on her not being as active as she was before all this surgery. She deserves a vacation maybe we'll all get the chance to take a break after this stuff is all done.
I am going to be brief on this next paragraph. Kendalls great family friend Rachel whom has spend the last few months hanging out with us has started chemo for Hodgkin's Disease, she called to tell me as I was having an appointment in my chemo Dr office, blew me away, I still want to pinch pinch, it unbelievable. She has a rough but do-able road ahead of her, she is strong and will come through with flying colors. I would never ask that anyone go through this, her and I will prevail. I wonder all the time now what the odds of this happening are, you tell me? Just double the prayers for her and her parents please. She's not alone and nor am I. This is not something you do the buddy system with, but it has happened. We have big plans ahead for the two of us. This young lady was suppose to do her volunteer work that same week she was hospitalized, she was admitted to the pediatrics oncology floor, where she was to volunteer. She attends college full time with a 4.0 GPA and is 16 years old. AMAZING. She will resume school in the fall, for now she will focus on getting better. Love you lots kiddo.
By the way check this snow stuff out Blake is enjoying a ride in the snow!

I Give To You
I GIVE TO YOU
A fire to light inside your heart,to feel the warm embers glow.
A piece of the sun's warm rays,to bask in it's fiery show.
I Give To You
A piece of a rainbow to color your world, when all seems totally gray.
Some roses for the sweet perfume,to kiss your senses with its bouquet.
I Give To You
A sprinkling of some twinkling stars,to wish upon at night.
The morning dew to kiss the day,To bask in it's delight.
I Give To You
A summer's breeze to caress your face,to show that someone cares.
The sweet song of the nightingale,to remind you that I am always there.
I GIVE TO YOU
My lasting friendship, always true.A gift of love to hold inside,
whenever you feel blue,or just because you need a friend.
This friend...that will always be there for you!!

UPDATE # 6 March 9th 4:15am Can't sleep again.
OK its been a while since I have written, sorry. I am just as busy now as I was three months ago, maybe more so. I spend lot of time running the roads for Dr appt., the kids and just doing my normal daily stuff. I kept very busy last week doing the wig thing, oh boy was that something. You all won't be seeing it for a while two weeks or so??? Carolyn and mother decided to go with me for my adventures. First stop was the Breast Cancer Resource Center, what a amazing place. I got loaded up with hats, scarfs, books, an a wig. They also offer classes that I will be going to here and there, Managing Hair Loss and Look Good Feel Better are just two of the many they have to offer. To be able to get fit for the wig I had to have another haircut, if you haven't seen it yet you will, contain yourself please. The next stop was at the plastic surgeon for a follow up and saline. Then to the Chemo Dr we went, will be starting in a week or so. I also will go to my second appointment with the physical therapist and plastic surgeon today more saline. Check out the slide show on my blog for those wig pics, you guess which one I decided on. Mother is seeing her therapist they told her she still has two or more months to work on a complete recovery. She has good days and days that are not so good, bless her heart. The kids are all hangin in there, they liked the new hair style and the wig. See ya for now, have a wonderful day, week, month. Please sign my guess book and add a photo. You will find the slide show on the left, hope the music doesn't drive you nuts. Fell free to comment also.

This was not easy getting everyone together.
1924: The Ethics of Friendship
1924: The Ethics of Friendship
It is not enough to make friends; you must know how to keep them. When you make a new friend whose friendship you value and wish to keep, learn his idiosyncracies and respect them. Learn his little peculiarities of manner and bear with him. Force yourself to be conscious always of the fact that while he has faults of which you are aware, you have faults of which he is aware. The ideal friend overlooks these little things and looks only for the big.
Doubt and suspicion are fatal to friendship. A friend worth having is a friend worth trusting. In time of doubt there should be a frank explanation. A true friend will not listen to criticism from others regarding his friend; will never gossip about him; will protect him from slander; will refuse to hear or believe evil of him.
There should be absolute sincerity in friendship. If your friend has done something or said something of which you disapprove, go to him and talk to him about the matter. You are false to your friendship if you talk to others about it.
If you want to correct a friend for some mistake he has made, do so with all the grace and tact you would use in correcting a stranger. No one resents being corrected. It is the manner of the person who makes the correction that is usually resented. Your friend is certainly entitled to as much consideration as you show your acquaintances.
Too many of us feel that we can take liberties with our friends that we would not dare to take with strangers. Handle your friend's book as carefully as you would the book of a new acquaintance, more carefully than you would handle your own. Do not feel that because it is with your friend that you have an engagement that you can be half an hour late. Real friendship is founded on courtesy, kindness, and understanding.
